G plan fresco table

getting back to an earlier blog, made a start on the fresco table today

002

yes the classic piece of shabby chic one (they'll rot in hell for their crime) by the look of the centre don't even think they knew it was an extending table, but anyway as you can see it’s in the right hands now

004as you can see “yessss! we have grain” just the legs to clean up now, underneath the lovely magnolia silk emulsion I'm not sure if it’s mahogany or walnut but I’m getting there, the top is no questions asked teak! and as for finish i think silk to show the grain, witch means thinned varnish x 4 or 5 coats (flat with 600 paper after each) then polish, or should i try what some very old cabinet maker who toured India once told me about, one coat of linseed oil every day for thirty days, then dry for a week then flat and polish.

shabby chic

the definition of (according to Billy) you take one piece of classic 70,s G plan furniture like this

 038

and do this to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

033

this week we had a ruling from the European court of human rights stating that any life prisoner should be given the right to appeal, ok all well and good for mass murders but come off it anyone who commits shabby chic life should mean life.  this will be an on-going project putting this piece of classic 70,s G plan furniture right so stay tuned to this blog

(sorry i just love real wood)
