dad’s are funny thing’s really, your mum was always the one that put the plaster on your cut knee, gave you the good night kiss as she tucked you into bed, and cooked all that wonderful food that you hated then but now you have got all the recipes for, your dad on the other hand always seemed to be your hair’s too long, “call that music”, and the all time classic “when i was a lad” do remember one morning at about 3am turning off the Kawasaki kh 400 200 yard’s from home completely bladdered (drunk) so i wouldn't wake him up, going to the front door and after finding it locked deciding to try climbing up the ivy to my bedroom window (which i always kept a jar for times like these) , getting stuck halfway with the laughing fit’s then feeling our grab the back of my jeans and pull me in, “ahh those were the day’s”
and here’s the old buger with mum at our wedding we were lucky to have him there, at christmas he went through a sixteen hour heart operation which isn't bad for a man in his eighty's, so i think this fathers day is just that little bit more special,
“have a good one dad”
