it was good to see in all this doom and gloom of this green and unpleasant land we call England a good old fashioned fairy tale.
“nice one you two”
brean down “think the best walk so far this year” i never counted the step’s but believe me there’s alot of them, “i did make new friend’s on the way” but well worth all the wheezing, very old stones that could tell a tail or two flower’s that just smile
and if you don't fancy all those step’s again (like some people) just take the long route down through the wood's for more about brean down try this site http://www.burnham-on-sea.com/breandown.shtml
and now the other side of this year’s first break out , “Easter school holiday’s” Charlie (poppy’s son) and his best mate needed entertaining, so the comfortably numb was rigged to take a PlayStation and loaded with water pistol’s, crisp’s, sweet’s, and all the other thing’s your average eleven year olds feel they cant live without, “or maybe not” Charlie after two day’s of all that became Charlie the van boy again, his mate could not keep up, at this point i could write line after line about Charlie and not sum that kid up, the best you could do is read about his mum you couldn't put a fag paper between those two, all i can say is he’s going to enjoy the next two weekend’s his first wild camp and first concert.
that’s the first trip out for the comfortably numb done then, popped down to brean for a few day’s, she did turn a good few head’s in her new paint job, a 1986 grandmother rv held her head high parked alongside all the state of the art stuff, “remember when you pull onto your pitch park carefully”
you can go to The Ritz, The Savoy, or The Mayfair “but sorry the best full English can only be done in a tent or a van”
last night sat on the beach watching the sunset to pink floyd with a few can’s,
“SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND”
“let’s have some music”
one of my favourite pink floyd track’s, me and Steve Brown skived a Friday afternoon off school in the 70’s to watch live at Pompeii at the local Odeon, “that did it for me”
in this world there is two type's of clean, one is the man clean the other (I'm shaking in my boot’s as i write this) is the girly clean, to me the van was fine but to poppy “NO” big time so out come all plastic bottle’s of god knows what,
I'm sorry but i just don't get this girly cleaning thing, so just roll on Tuesday we’re off for the first time this year, so it’s “ok Mr Billy take the comfortably numb into the wind”
i seem to find myself doing more walking nowadays and enjoying it funny how you can live in a town and just drive everywhere you do miss a lot, so yesterday poppy wanted to have a look around the outlet village here, “well it was a nice day for a walk” so off we set, one thing about west Swindon is it was well landscaped as you can see just a five minute walk from mine, then cross a duel carriageway and you start to see Swindon's odd history, Swindon began as a Saxon village. The name Swindon is derived from the Saxon words swine dun meaning pig hill, it’s not surprising then really to find this
at the end of Radcliff street, just turn about ninety degree's with the camera and take this one, after a good walk to the top of the road all the history start’s again with the old railway works now the outlet village, but first this “Ron's store’s”this hardware store seems to have always been here and worth a look in if passing, you name it he sell’s it “even fork handle’s” it may even date’s back to Saxon times and was started by someone called Ron the terrible, and so at last the old railway work’s/outlet village and a window shopping orgasm for poppy, not really my thing lable’s but poppy loved it, all those hand bag’s and glad rag’s, you can't take it away from Mc’arthur glen they did do a good job of keeping the feeling of what the old railway work’s that closed in 1986 was all about, i do find it funny that at one point a third of the male population of Swindon worked there, i wonder if after a day loading furnaces, riveting, and welding did they all meet up after at the workingman’s club with their Gucci shoe’s and handbag’s,
what’s left of this old work’s is well worth a look at, will put all the photo’s on my the real Swindon “my hometown” photo album,
all the hard work’s done now on the van, so it’s a nice sunny afternoon just sat in her with a good bottle of wine,
think i may have to start filling the seed feeder a few more time’s a week, had this fella circling the area over the past few day’s
“a buzzard” and look’s like a young one too, he’s been around all week and hovering on two site’s which i think are ideal for him. “that would make my day being walking distances of a buzzard’s nest”
well look’s like this is the first blast of summer “what a cracker today’s been” everything coming on great,
so let’s keep this taster of summer going with this all-time summer classic, it’s funny we always think all time guitarist's being Hendrix, Page, Gilmour, Clapton, and Sandy Cowan, watch this man, “Ernie Isley and enjoy”
she’s getting there, the comfortably numb is starting to take shape hard going “but where’s the fun in easy”
even poppy’s impressed by it all
this is going to be a challenge, she’s been well bodged in the past “the comfortably numb not poppy” she’s 26 years old, you cant get part’s easy anymore so look’s like it’s down to a bit of that old Billy magic.
